Raising my cup of crappy hotel room coffee earlier this morning to a pretty day in St. Louis. Checking out Tattoo the Lou today before heading to @explorertattoo conference tomorrow! 👍👍
I'm having the best time working on this Marilyn Manson portrait for total tattoo badass @bradypayton. Thanks for the great chats, and for trusting me with your arm! 😊
I've been working on Matt's back for quite awhile and we're finally (almost) finished! A few tiny touchups and we'll call it wrapped. Thank you so much for such a big, fun project, @heffner_matt! [Lettering at the top is mine too, from a bunch of years ago.]
PROGRESS! We're right in the middle of Rob's arm, and I'm sure he keeps getting asked what the hell we're doing exactly... The angry grey in the middle will heal down to a buttery smooth grey like the bottom, and after we have the whole dang background full, we'll start tattooing the background design. I'm having so much fun with this one. Lazy Sundays are the best.
So much fun today finishing this elephant for Mandy. She's brought a bunch of memories home from Uganda, and now she has this pretty beast to commemorate them. Thank you for the conversation and the delicious Ugandan beer, Mandy! ❤️
Here I am. 🖤 #artvsartist
I'm excited to be attending Explorer Tattoo Conference in St Louis next month! Can't wait to be surrounded by a bunch of badasses and learn all their secret tricks! #explorertattooconference
Finished these dreamy roses last night on the gorgeous @rachseitz. Ohhhh my god I love my job. More please! Who's down for some big, soft roses on the chest/collarbone/shoulder? Or full back/booty/top of a leg? 😍 Let's get adventurous.
I've been obsessing over this project for months and I finally got to start on it this week. First I painted the snake on Rob's arm (that's what you're looking at here) with a giant brush and black tattoo ink. Then I outlined all the tiny little brushstroke details around the whole thing. Next, I started chunking out the negative spaces I'm leaving for the belly scales, and filling our giant brushstroke snake in black. When we're finished, the whole background will be filled with grays and the scales and eye and line down the back will be the only true negative space anywhere. Scroll for progress photos and some brushstroke details. ----> . Thank you @rc_mayes for being such a badass and letting me start this wild project with you!
